Introduction - Midlife Facilitator Package

Award winning Midlife workshop from Dietitians of Canada and Kraft Canada

Many women reach midlife and find themselves confused and frustrated by unexpected physical and emotional changes. The Celebrating Midlife Madness Workshop turns the bumpy road of change into a journey of healthy, positive transformation and treats the "madness" of midlife with a healthy dose of good humour and self-empowerment.

The Celebrating Midlife Madness Workshop is designed to help women understand and honour the changes they encounter during midlife and menopause. Unexpected weight gain, changing nutritional needs, and symptoms such as "hot flashes" are addressed, as well as a number of issues including concerns and emotions during midlife.

Throughout the four-hour workshop, the female participants develop self-care action plans - personal goal setting journals to help direct their path toward improved health and wellness. The journals ask women to identify their concerns and the changes they want to make in their lives. They also help women chart their current eating habits to evaluate whether they provide the particular nutrients, such as calcium, that women need during this stage of their lives.

The fun and informative workshops are delivered in a variety of settings including wellness centers, workplaces and communities. Health professionals from across Canada who are interested in facilitating the program are equipped with workshop materials and a self-explanatory facilitators package by HUGS International.
