Facilitator in the: Adult Program

For many years, I felt that it was unfair to provide the standard diet counseling that involved weigh-ins, calorie-counting and trying to stick to a diet sheet. After all, it is clear that diets set folks up for ineffective, costly and ultimately frustrating experiences. When I found HUGS, I finally felt that I could offer an approach that clients deserve and that as a dietitian, I feel is professionally appropriate and scientifically sound.

Dietitian with San Mateo County Department of Health Services since 1985. I have worked in the Woman, Infants and Children (WIC) Program and in chronic disease prevention. Over the years, I have done numerous public presentations, composed "Nutrition Facts" labels for local companies, and author a newsletter entitled PRIME TIME Nutrition Notes for our division.
